A Blue Carbon Society team recently traveled to Chao Samran Subdistrict, where "The Sustainable Mangrove Management and Coastal Ecosystem Development” project is underway in Phetchaburi. They met with Mr. Kasitada Kloidee, a tourism expert, and with the province’s Volunteer Marine Protection Group as well as community leaders and local youth groups to discuss how to develop and conserve marine and coastal environments. The meeting covered guidelines for garbage collection in Khlong Bang Thalu. The team also visited mangroves at the Mangrove Forest Conservation Coordination Center of the Royal Thai Army in Phetchaburi. Forests here are jointly planted and maintained by the Royal Thai Army and local community groups.
